How Kill Bed Bugs With Cold

Bed bug infestation is a very terrible thing which should be halted the moment it is detected. Not only does it result in an unhygienic environment, it also affects the quality and comfort of an individual’s life and increases the risks of contracting diseases. Cimidae, better known by the name bed bugs are tiny blood sucking parasitic insects which are very hard to kill if you don’t have the proper knowhow. Mattresses, pillows, couches and other warm places tend to be bed bug hide outs. They are found in close proximity to their hosts, often feeding in droves while the host is sleeping.

These parasites are extremely sensitive to extremes of temperature. Killing bed bugs with cold is also a good method of exterminating the pests without chemicals, but it isn’t quite as effective as steam. In order to kill bed bugs with cold, the temperature used must be below 32 degrees-Fahrenheit to near zero, otherwise it will be ineffective.

If you don’t have air-conditioning that allows near zero temperatures, then you’d best call exterminators to kill bed bugs with cold for you. Exterminators, unlike us do-it-yourself killer use specialized equipment to kill bed bugs with cold at temperatures that would freeze even our fingers off. Killing bed bugs with cold may be a good way to exterminate the pests naturally, but since cold temperatures generally slow down an insect’s metabolism, the guarantee that you can kill bed bugs with cold instantaneously can be disputed. It is said that if the cold-extermination method is used, the area has to be kept in an extremely cold temperature for some days until the critters freeze to death – not a very convenient thing for households! It is better if you look for other alternatives like herbs or organic compounds to kill bed bugs with. Heat treatments, herbal insecticides and other natural processes are always there for you to try!
